A Bird’s-eye View of the Cars of the 2020 AutoShow

With more than 1,000 vehicles to peruse at the 2020 Canadian International AutoShow, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

Here’s a list of cars we felt shouldn’t be missed this year. So if you haven’t yet made your way down to the halls of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, we suggest you do so today before the show wraps up on Feb 23. And if you can’t make it (or even if you did), please enjoy this snippet of the AutoShow.

Mazda3

The Mazda3 won AJAC’s coveted 2020 Canadian Car of the Year award. Upscale styling, a luxuriously trimmed interior and excellent driving dynamics make this a compact car that punches well above its weight.

 

Hyundai 45

Paying homage to its past, but also looking forward to the future. the Hyundai 45 is a tribute to the Pony Coupe Concept shown 45 years ago.  This retro-futuristic EV is Hyundai’s vision for the age of electrification and autonomous vehicles.

 

McLaren Senna

McLaren’s most focused track-ready special yet, the Senna embodies McLaren’s passion and history of motorsport in this Ultimate Series supercar for the road. It’s named after Ayrton Senna, one of the greatest racing drivers the world has ever known.

 

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

The world’s most exclusive Bugatti, inspired by the iconic Type 57 Atlantic, the No.1 of 1, La Voiture Noire is the most expensive new car ever sold at over $16-millon. Bugatti describes it as “a manifesto of the Bugatti aesthetic and a piece of automotive haute couture.”

 

Genesis GV80

The latest from the Korean luxury brand, the GV80 is the long-anticipated luxury SUV from Genesis designed to take on segment leaders like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.

 

Alfa Romeo Giulia

Sure to grab your attention, this neon-green Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio got Hollywood exposure in the recent Netflix film ‘6 Underground’ starring Ryan Reynolds. The 505-hp sedan can be seen burning rubber as it gets chased by a Maserati through the streets of Florence.

 

BMW Vision M Next

The BMW Vision M Next concept signifies the future of the brand’s sports cars. It’s a hybrid vehicle that has its wheels firmly planted in the future but still brings driving pleasure to the forefront of its experience.

 

Ford Mustang Mach-E



Ford’s controversially named Mustang Mach-E is the automaker’s first electric vehicle and will offer up to 475 km of zero-emission range and sports car acceleration. It’s the latest addition to the Mustang family.

 

Auto Exotica

Located on the 100 Level of the North Building, the Auto Exotica exhibit features rare Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and more. Many are worth more than a typical single-family home.

 

Felino cB7R

Canadian-built, the Felino cB7R is the brainchild of former race car driver Antoine Bessette. The carbon and Kevlar sports car weighs just 1135 kg and makes up to 700 hp from its 7-litre V8.
