So whether you prefer granny smith, spy, gala, Fuji, pink lady, golden delicious, Braeburn, or Honey Crisp, you are guaranteed to find one that suits your taste buds. Apple orchards are the perfect weekend day trip and can be combined with sightseeing along the way. Even the youngest kids will enjoy picking fresh apples from the tree and taking a big bite. Chudleigh’s
Chudleigh’s is huge and one of the most popular apple picking farms. It’s been loved by families for over three generations and has a children’s entertainment area with a straw maze, sand pit, and slides. They also provide a picnic area and retail store with lots of goodies for sale. But because it’s so popular I suggest arriving early in the day to avoid line-ups and crowds. They have multiple varieties of apples, some available for picking and others for purchase. The farm is located in Halton Hills at 9528 Hwy 25, they suggest following the map on their website and parking is free.
Pingle’s Farm Market
Pick your own apples is underway at Pingle’s and they also have a farm market with fresh produce from their own farm as well as others in Ontario. Children can enjoy the corn maze, slides, barn bouncer, and face painting. Pingle’s is located at 1805 Taunton Road East in Hampton and they have a map on their website.
Albion Orchards
Albion Orchards grows over 20 varieties of apples such as royal gala, but they can’t guarantee what is always available, so show up and be surprised! They also have apple cider and baked goods for sale, admission to the grounds is free. Albion Orchards is located in Caledon East on 14800 Innis Lake Road.
The Big’R Apple Farm
This farm, located in Brampton, is now picking royal gala, ginger gold, Macintosh and wealthy apples – all of which sound delicious! They also have veggies available for picking such as sweet peas, zucchini, peppers and squash! Their exact address is 8674 Heritage Road.
Dixie Orchards
Dixie Orchards is a family owned farm located in southern Caledon. They offer a variety of apples including McIntosh, gala, spy, Fuji, Cortland and Honey Crisp, although this will vary according to the harvest. They also sell apple butter, apple cider and candy apples! Kids will love the weekend wagon rides, a corn maze and straw jump! Dixie Orchards is located at 14309 Dixie Road.

Andrew’s Scenic Acres
This family owned 100 acre farm was established in the eighties and is located southeast of the Niagara Escarpment. They have seasonal pick your own fruits and veggies and currently have apples ready to bite into – contact the farm for specific varieties. They also have a picnic area, playground, tractor drawn hay wagon rides and farm market. Andrew’s Scenic Acres is located at 9365 10th Sideroad, Halton Hills.
Apple Land Station
This orchard has 14 varieties of fresh apples throughout the season waiting to be picked. Their website provides a helpful apple variety chart that explains what variety of apple is best for your taste buds and baking. This kid friendly family owned farm even has a unique train that runs on weekends to the apple orchards and a large corn maze. They are located in Thorndale at 329 Richmond St., RR2.
Brantwood Farms
Brantwood Farms, a family owned farm, offers pick your own apples in the fall months, contact them directly for more information on variety and what’s available. They also have a straw castle, corn pit, obstacle course and corn maze. They are located at 251 Powerline Road in Brantford.
Smith’s
Smith’s is ideal for younger kids as they have easy to pick apples from dwarf apple trees! They have lots of varieties to choose from including ginger gold, honey crisp, Royal Gala and McIntosh – check out their website for updates on apple varieties. They also have a play area, corn maze and tube slide. Smith’s is family owned and operated and located on a quiet country road in Port Elgin; the exact address is 470 The River Road, RR3.
Thiessen Orchards
Thiessen Orchards is run by a third generation family, but the historical roots date back to 1934 with the tradition of apples and flowers. Today they still offer delicious apples at pick your own orchards. Depending on the harvest, you can choose from red delicious, Mutsu, Empire, and Ambrosia, among many others. They also boast their
Kountry Kitchen with a variety of yummy goodies. They are located in exquisite Leamington at 400 Talbot Rd E near the intersection of County Rd 33 and Talbot Rd E. The road trip to Leamington can easily be turned into a weekend getaway because it’s a great town to visit.
