The new Toyota Supra has made it onto the wish list of many gearheads, even if some corners of the internet continue to carp about the car’s Bavarian roots. Regardless of its lineage, it’s hard to argue with a turbocharged inline-six making 335 horsepower funneled entirely through the rear wheels. A sprint to 100km/h in about four seconds doesn’t hurt either.
At the upcoming Canadian International Auto Show, the annual Rock the Road Raffle will be giving away not one but two Supras to one lucky winner. As a major fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Canada, organizers say the raffle makes a big difference for Canadian families facing prostate cancer.
On the ticket are two 2020 Toyota Supras — a GR Supra Nocturnal (black) and GR Supra Renaissance (red). Donated by the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association (TADA) in Ontario, the prize is valued at more than $150,000.
“Each year, the TADA comes through with an amazing vehicle, or in this case vehicles, to support the incredible work done by Prostate Cancer Canada,” says Susan Gubasta, President of the TADA. Previous raffles have given away a Camaro ZL1, Corvette Stingray, Mustang GT, Challenger Hellcat, Porsche Carrera Cabriolet and, last year, an Acura NSX.
The previous seven Rock the Road Raffles raised $2.5 million that Prostate Cancer Canada has used to enhance the quality of life of all Canadians affected by the disease through collaboration, driving world-class research and translating knowledge into better outcomes. There are 30,000 tickets available this year, anticipated to raise $600,000.
“Every raffle since 2013 has sold out, and the cars keep getting more impressive,” said Peter Coleridge, President and Chief Executive Officer, Prostate Cancer Canada. “For the first time this year, one lucky winner will receive two amazing cars – and double the bragging rights.”
Tix for the raffle are on offer for $25 each or three for $60. They are available until February 20
th at 9:30pm. For details on buying tickets, visit the RockTheRoadRaffle.ca website where one can find info on ordering tickets online or in person. The draw will take place between noon and 1 p.m. on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
