Toronto Auto Show: Visit our Star booth for a $40K contest and knock-out cars
And check out our map to the exhibit grounds, below
When — not if — you pop by the Toronto Star booth at the Canadian International Auto Show on Level 100 of the North building at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, you will find four things: three of the most exotic automobiles ever to grace the face of the Earth, and a place to enter your name and contact information that just might win you $40,000 toward the purchase of a brand new car.
First, those three cars.
BELOW Check out our map of the auto show exhibits, or get your hard copy in the Toronto Star’s daily Auto Show tabloid this Thursday
On display will be a Jaguar XKRS-GT — one of only five in Canada — and two race cars, a Ferrari 458 and a Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Just looking at them can get your heart beating faster.
If the excitement is too much and you feel in need of a rest, sofas and easy chairs will be available at our booth. And several big screens will let you watch some of the Olympics while you take a load off your feet.
Now about that $40,000 prize. Last year’s winner bought his dream car, an Audi Q5 worth $59,000, and only had to spend $19,000 of his own money. You can’t beat a deal like that.
On the other hand, as you’ll see at the show, there are plenty of new cars to be had for just about $40,000, so you might not have to dip into the old bank account at all.
Toronto Star Wheels and Wheels.ca will be a visible presence at the Star booth, with reporters and photographers filing stories daily about what’s going on at the show.
We at Wheels will kick off our special coverage this Thursday, Feb. 13, with a Canadian International Auto Show preview section. Just about everything you could want to know about the show will be included in stories written by contributors like Jim Kenzie, Mark Richardson, Peter Bleakney, Peter Gorrie and Jil McIntosh, among others.
Starting Valentine’s Day (this Friday, for those men out there who might have forgotten) and continuing daily through to the show’s conclusion on Feb. 23, a 24-page Wheels tabloid, chock full of up-to-date news and information, will be distributed at the Convention Centre and included in some issues of the commuter newspaper Metro.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, a second special section — this one focusing on the AutoConnect technology display at the show — will be included in the Star.
