It would be a sweet dream for most young men. For Arie Pekar of Dundas, Ont., the chance take a few laps in a supercar was the dream of a lifetime.
Pekar, 35, who has polycystic kidney disease, recently attended a supercars event at Toronto Motorsport Park near Cayuga and saw that dream come true: he got a turn at the wheel of his choice of exotic rides, courtesy of Exotic Car Tours.
"Take your pick," he was told. "Any car you like."
The contenders? Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes, Aston Martins, Audis, Lotuses, GTRs ... the mind reels. So which one did Pekar choose for his dream drive?
Watch this video, below, in which Pekar explains his condition and how you can help if you'd like, and find out. A nice footnote: Pekar and his wife have since welcomed a baby boy, Benjamin, born three days after Pekar started dialysis, bringing the tally to two dreams come true!
