The highly anticipated 24th installment of James Bond will hit theatres in November 2015 and we here at Wheels couldn’t be more excited. This film has been built up by critics and producers to be one of the best Bond movies ever made. That’s a lot of hype to live up to; so we started doing some investigating of our own. Here is some information that will help you decide if SPECTRE is worth the anticipation:

It’s a Car Lover’s Dream.

Late in 2014, Aston Martin revealed their sleek and futuristic looking DB10. At the same launch, SPECTRE director Sam Mendes and James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli announced that this would be the official car of the upcoming 2015 movie. The inclusion of the DB10 didn’t come as a shock to most people as Aston Martin is essentially the James Bond car. However, Mendes introduced the car as the movies “first cast member,” and made it clear that this two-door coupé should definitely be considered one of the stars of the movie. This Aston Martin was closely designed with the James Bond creative team and one might even say it was specifically made for this film. In fact, 10 versions of the DB10 were made for SPECTRE. The “hero” Aston Martin, which is the car as-is, can be seen when James is just cruising. There are 9 DB10s specifically made for stunt driving. Although they look the same from the outside, they are caged up on the inside and modified to withstand off-roading and extreme driving. The Aston Martin DB10 has a 4.7 litre V8 engine, with a 6 speed, manual transmission. As stated in the SPECTRE trailer, it goes 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

The producers and director of the film keep speaking publically about one specific scene in SPECTRE that they feel is going to be iconic. They are calling it the best car chase scene in 007 history. Why? James Bond will be driving the Aston Martin DB10 while being hunted by his nemesis who drives the extraordinary Jaguar C-X75. Sam Mendes described the scene by saying, “…it’s a cat and mouse game through the night time streets of Rome at a great speed between two of the fastest cars in the world, neither of which you have ever seen before.”

Jaguar is referring to the C-X75 as the most advanced Jaguar ever created. Technically production of the C-X75 was put to a halt, so the car in SPECTRE is somewhat of a prototype. Technicalities aside, this car is beautiful. With a downsized, boosted petrol engine, this plug-in hybrid supercar is estimated to be sold between US$1.1-$1.5 million. You can look forward to watching the C-X75 producing 778 horsepower on the streets of Rome in SPECTRE.

It’s a Movie Buff’s Fantasy.

Hollywood producers know that a celebrity filled cast brings you a bigger audience… and SPECTRE producers agree. This is possibly the most star-studded Bond film yet. Bond’s lovers, enemies, and friends are all big names. Some of which are:

  • Ralph Fiennes returns in his role as M, the head of Secret Intelligent Service M16
  • Finding out that Christoph Waltz is the new James Bond villain was extremely exciting for any movie lover. No one plays the villain role quite like Mr. Waltz
  • Superstar Monica Bellucci, 50, who made headlines for being the oldest Bond girl to date. Bellucci, reminding us that beauty has no age, will play James’ love interest. Well… one of his love interests.

Newcomers to the movie and soon-to-be superstars are David Bautista and Léa Seydoux. Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear will reprise their former 007 roles.

It’s a Bond Fan’s Desire.

The plot of the movie is anticipated to be one of the juiciest Bond stories yet. Years ago, the franchise really shed the film’s gimmicky feel when they rebooted Bond with Daniel Craig. Now, the movies certainly give off a darker, more serious tone.

In SPECTRE, James Bond goes on a journey to track down a violent organization after receiving a mysterious message connected to his past. Of course expect steamy love scenes and intense action sequences throughout that journey. Although the movie was mostly shot in London, you can look forward to on-location scenes in Mexico City, Austria, Rome and Morocco.
