RSX Out, but Is Civic Type-R In?

In a move to be a more upscale brand, Acura will drop the RSX coupe from its 2007 model lineup. According to Autoweek.com, the decision comes partly because Acura’s mainstream Honda cousin now offers the $25,880 Civic Si with 197 hp — only three ponies short of the $33,400 RSX Type S. Scuttlebutt is that Acura may now add coupe and convertible models to the TSX family to take on the BMW 3 Series. With the RSX retired, there’s a chance the Civic Type-R may finally come to North America. Though a popular pocket rocket in Europe, past generations did not reach our shores, but the coming three-door hatchback could. We’re sure it, and its estimated 220 hp would be welcome here. Stay tuned.
