Nissan has just released a teaser of the upcoming new Maxima. But their teaser of this sedan isn't really much of one.

Most times, a pre-show teaser is a headlight or a dark silhouette. Basically, a rendering or photo that has more promise of things to come than it does actual automotive detail. But not this time. This time Nissan's showing off the entire front and side of the new Maxima.

That's probably because the 2019 Maxima isn't an all-new vehicle. This one's a bit of a facelift for the car. The grille design gets a tweak that adds some more new Altima looks. Like the bottom that widens out instead of tapering in like the current car. And the headlights look angrier than before. Then again, the 2018 Maxima is still an appealing shape, so maybe not many changes were needed. Expect similarly subtle changes to the rear once we see that side of the new Max.

The new 2019 Maxima will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. That show takes place at the end of November.

With the 2019 model will come some new safety features. It will have Nissan's Safety Shield 360 technology. It didn't detail if that would mean any new to Nissan equipment, but on other 2019 models, the suite comes with active safety features like emergency braking, lane departure warning, high beam assist blind spot warnings, and rear cross-traffic alert plus rear emergency braking.

We'll have to wait until November to find out if the car's 3.5L 300 hp V6 will see any changes.
