Man crashes car into gas station, flees in a taxi

Spectacular double-flip crash and escape caught on CCTV cameras

  • The beginning of morning rush hour, cars on the highway traveling to and from downtown

A young man who survived a high-speed crash and car flip into a Cincinnati, Ohio, gas station had an odd, and perhaps suspicious, response: he hailed a cab and high-tailed it out of there.

The entire incident was captured on the gas station’s closed-circuit cameras, and the video, shown below, is making headlines everywhere.

The CCTV footage, first aired by ABC News, captures the spectacular crash, the young man crawling out of the window of the crashed car and immediately flagging a passing cab to flee the scene. He is still at large.

The owner of the gas station told ABC News the crash last Saturday caused about $5,000 worth of damage. She also said she had been robbed earlier that morning, but it is not clear whether the incidents are related.
