The image of cars on a parking
You could say that trolling shopping malls and sidewalks in a car with a video camera and a train horn, scaring the wits out of people, is mean spirited. You would be right if you had no sense of humour. I have always had a soft spot for a bit of juvenile fun, so I think this is pretty funny. It’s really just a one-trick pony of a video (featuring what sounds for all the world like Beavis and Butthead in the driver’s and passenger’s seat) but that makes it even funnier.
Meet the World’s Fastest convertible
When most people think of fast convertibles, cars like Corvette, Viper and Porsche are usually the models that come to mind. Mazda has a slightly more realistic view of “fast,” one which proves that horsepower isn’t the only way to go fast.
Watch James Dean at the race track
Most fans of James Dean know that he was an avid sports car racer, who spent as much time on track in his Porsche as possible. Many folks may be like me in that they have never really seen video footage of the actor at play. I came across this compilation of stills and video footage on YouTube that gives a great glimpse into the passion that drove Dean.
The quattro success story with Hannu Mikkola
The early Eighties were a magical time for the sport of rallying, as the top echelon of the sport was a battlefield of fire breathing monsters that were faster than anyone could have imagined just a few years earlier. In Argentina, Audi driver Hannu Mikkola won at the wheel of a new machine called the Quattro. It was a game changing car not only for the sport, but for Audi in showrooms. To this day, Audi depends on the Quattro name along with the ever changing technology it represents to keep customers coming into dealerships. Watch Mikkola talk about his history with Quattro, when he is reunited with that same car in Argentina, 30 years later.
