Another day, another airbag issue – Reuters is reporting that Honda Motor Co is recalling 137,000 2019 CR-V crossovers whose airbags could suddenly deploy without a crash. The recall replaces the wheel wire harnesses and supplemental restraint system cables that Honda says can degrade over time due to improper installation.

17,951 of these vehicles are in Canada, while Honda is reportedly recalling an additional 19,000 vehicles that had Takata airbags installed before May of 2018. The current issue is not connected to that one, and no fatalities have resulted from the faulty airbag deployment.

That’s another black eye for Takata, who has been under fire for a number of years now due to improper airbag installation in a number of models from different manufacturers.
