Perfectly suited to the autumn climate of Los Angeles in the fall, the company also had its world premiere of their 8-Series cabriolet. The 2019 BMW M850i xDrive Cabriolet debuted with its top dropped and ready to roll.
Based on the motorsport-inspired M850i Coupe recently introduced by BMW, the Cabriolet offers drivers the option of enjoying the new 8-Series al fresco.
Exclusively powered by the company’s 4.4-litre, twin-scroll, twin-turbocharged V8, the M850i xDrive produces an impressive 523 horsepower and 553 pounds-feet of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic and an electronically-controlled limited slip rear differential. Suspension is the company’s Adaptive M, with electronically-controlled, adaptive dampers.
BMW says this 8-Series drop top is good for zero to 100 km/h in under four seconds.
The fabric top is insulated for temperature and sound control and opens and closes electrically in fifteen seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
Front seat passengers will enjoy neck warmers for those drives in cooler conditions and there’s a stowable wind deflector that fits behind the front seats.
The M850i xDrive Cabriolet will be available at BMW dealers in March 2019, with prices starting at $131,900.
