LOS ANGELES – Veteran actor Dick Van Dyke survived a spectacular car fire unscathed on Monday when a passerby pulled him from his smoldering Jaguar on the side of a Los Angeles-area freeway.

Moments later, the vehicle burst into flames and burned to a crisp.

A spokesman for the California Highway Patrol said Van Dyke was seen slumped over the steering wheel of the Jag before being rescued. Van Dyke, 87, is reportedly fine and his sense of humour intact. He tweeted yesterday that his Jag is for sale “real cheap.” His wife, Arlene, tweeted a video of the roadside aftermath, below, and as you can see the car is absolutely incinerated.
