Here’s another reason why it might be a good idea to buy a dash camera.
A pedestrian in Taiwan was caught on camera apparently attempting to stage being run over by a car.
In the video, the pedestrian is seen running toward the camera car, which comes to a stop before the woman flings herself atop the hood.
The pedestrian lies motionless for a few seconds before dropping to the ground. Little did she know her actions were all caught on camera - and that the driver, apparently, was a police officer, according to the YouTube video description.
You can't make this stuff up.
The driver promptly gets out of the car and gives the pedestrian an earful. We assume she was arrested for the stunt.
The incident brings to mind a collision that happened on Highway 401 earlier this year. In that incident, a car allegedly backed into another vehicle on the highway in an attempt to stage a collision.
The “accident”, however, was caught by the victim’s dash camera and charges were laid against the offending driver.
