CES 2019: Mercedes Unveils 2020 CLA Coupe in World Premiere
“Please welcome the ultimate wearable, the Mercedes CLA!”
This was how Mercedes introduced their latest luxury 4-door coupe. The car’s electronics is in touch with the needs of its passenger, and it promises to deliver an in-vehicle experience that is as intimate as your smart watch. The car features the MBUX Interior Assistant.
This is the Mercedes smartphone-like infotainment system. You can casually ask, “Hey Mercedes, it’s a little cold in here.” The car immediately responds by turning up the heat. The car understands in-direct voice commands and the new CLA responds with clever solutions. The computer system is powerful and is capable of learning. The more you use it, the better it gets.
The car also comes with augmented reality for navigation and other driver assistance features. The interior is very high tech with a dashboard that is built with a long screen stretching continuously from one door to the other.
This is a second-generation CLA four-door coupe. It has a sporty front-end with the low slung hood and diamond grille with a large central star.
The sporty rear is two-piece with narrow tail lamps.
The car is powered by a 2.0-liter 221-horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. An all-wheel drive version is expected to be available.
This new CLA will be available in late 2019.
