All-new Kia Rio debuts in New York
The 2018 Kia Rio is larger than the outgoing model thanks to an all-new platform with totally revised front MacPherson strut and rear twist-beam suspensions coupled to reset springs and shocks.
NEW YORK, NY: Kia Canada says the all-new Rio sub-compact sedan will provide buyers with a combination of fuel economy and fun-to-drive characteristics.
The Sedan, which was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, will join the Rio Five-Door that was shown to Canadian audiences at recent Montreal Auto Show.
The Sedan is powered by a 1.6-litre direct injection four-cylinder engine producing 130 hp and 118 lb/ft of torque driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Styling wise, the Sedan wears the latest version of the signature “tiger nose” grille with the headlights sweeping back into the fenders for a more substantial look.
The new platform makes for a roomer cabin with revised instrument panel and upgraded interior trim materials.
The centre console has a two-tier tray for objects like tablets and smartphones.
The trunk is also larger at 387 litres
Pricing will be announced closer to launch in the second quarter.
