Arriving in October, the Kia K5 will debut on Canadian dealership lots in three trims, LX, EX and GT-Line, and with standard all-wheel drive.
This mid-sized sedan is part of Kia’s next-generation line-up that the company says will showcase new bold designs, both inside and out. The K5 will come with a sleek wide, thin front grille – featuring a shark skin inspired mesh design – and “Heartbeat” LED daytime running lights. The K5 will also showcase a low-slung and fastback silhouette, highlighted with a chrome garnish spanning the roofline that will wrap around the rear glass.
The K5 LX, EX and GT-Line trims will come with a 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine that will produce 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, managed by an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission.
To make the driving experience that much more comfortable, the K5 will offer 8- or 10.25-inch high-resolution colour touchscreen infotainment systems, with the 10.5-inch coming with a navigation system that can provide real-time traffic data. A first for Kia, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto cuts the cord on charging cables, meaning drivers can enjoy being connected and charging up without being plugged in and they will be able to enjoy their music with a premium audio system with 12 Bose speakers.
MSRP for the 2021 Kia K5: Kia K5 2021 LX AWD at $29,595; Kia K5 2021 EX AWD at $32,595; Kia K5 2021 GT-Line AWD at $35,995; Kia K5 2021 GT at $39,995.
