I am looking for one of these cars, doing research on it, but came across to this site and reading some of yours comments.
People are entitled you to their opinions. It is unbelievable that why some are so quick to call other stupid when their opinions are inline as yours? When those people have the money to buy these type of cars, they may not buy for the same reasons as you think but they are not likely to be stupid. Joe mentioned that they are likely are people that have six figures in come. Do you think they are stupid to have earn that kind of money?

Price? Ouch!!! The average person won't be buying this car. Most likely it will appeal to a "Greenie" with a six figure salary........ A very limited market.

The article is inaccurate. Ontario has the second highest cost of electricity in North America (after PEI),. Including the various electrical costs charged other than $ per Kwh, even at the lowest rate electricity runs at 12 cents per kwh and a full electric circuit delivers 1.5 kw so the cost per hour of charging is 18 cents, and for three hours that is 54 cents. Still cheaper than the claimed cost of gas but if the electricity numbers are so sloppy the other numbers in this article are suspect. By the way I drive a Camry Hybrid and heat by geothermal so I am very used to doing these kinds of calcs. The cost of the plug in premium and the cost of money to finance it should be offset against savings to find out how many kms it takes to reach break even. If the Province (ie the taxpayer) is subsidizing an inefficient activity the story would have much more importance.

For what these electric cars cost even with a rebate you may as well just by a basic small 4 cyl care for way less money.

Another sucker product that like solar electricity still is years away from becoming economical.

Take a bus if you want to cut costs or drive a small efficient diesel over its twenty year life span.

Status and snob appeal are only matched by appearance of stupidity and winning the sucker award.
