A Colorado woman has survived at least 5 days trapped in her car after it crashed off of a rocky mountain road. Kristin Hopkins, a single mother of four, survived by writing messages on an umbrella, signaling cars driving by. Passersbys reported seeing a dead body in a flipped car at the bottom of the embankment. Firefighters responded and were about to break the glass when Kristen pressed her hand to the window; they realized she was still alive. Kristen was treated for major internal and external injuries including the removal of her feet. Rescuers said she should not be alive. Her hope and drive kept her fighting for her life.
