You don’t have to be a country music fan to see that one of its biggest stars has wicked taste in cars. And now he’s offering one of them up as a prize in part of a Pennzoil sweepstakes.
Tim McGraw designed his own one-off 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with a paint job inspired by his latest album, “Two Lanes of Freedom.” In a video promoting the car and the contest (video below), McGraw practically salivates while describing it.
“They did a fantastic job on this,” he says. “Twenty-three coats of colour; this is a great-looking car.” He notes the car goes from “zero to 60 in four seconds; that’s just what I need.”
The beefy muscle car’s exterior is doused half in orange, half in aqua blue for a fresh take on the classic Gulf Oil colour scheme, with splashes of bronze, brown and red thrown in for psychedelic good measure.
The Mopar hood is inspired by the “TA” style from the 1970s. Inside, the popping colour scheme continues with bronze metallic trim on the centre console and steering wheel and luxe orange and brown leather upholstery, with McGraw’s signature embroidered on the seatbacks.
Power comes from a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 that’s good for 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
You can enter to win in the “Four Wheels to Freedom” sweepstakes online by clicking here. The car itself will be on display at each of McGraw’s upcoming show venues, including a show at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre on July 25.
