This is why you never stop behind a parked truck

Published December 13, 2012

We’ve all been stuck behind a truck that has stopped at the side of the road for apparently no reason at least once in a while. This video is proof positive that you should not stop directly behind a truck with its hazard lights on.

The driver of the camera car (the youtube poster claims it is an Audi) is sitting still, tucked in behind a stopped truck. The trucker engages reverse and takes the Audi for a little ride.

Obviously the trucker is at fault, but the common sense side of the equation is that one should never park so close to the back of a truck that you can’t see its mirrors. Like the sticker on the back of many trucks says, “If you can’t see my mirrors, I can’t see you”.
