A 45-year-old Florida woman has been charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly tried to hit her ex-boyfriend with her SUV but crashed into a tree instead.
The drama unfolded when the woman showed up at her ex’s home at about 2 a.m. last week after a night of drinking at the casino, Florida’s Wink News reports.
Police say the woman’s ex-boyfriend told them he heard honking and ignored it, knowing it was his ex-girlfriend.
But when he looked outside and saw her driving around in circles on his front yard, he suspected she was tipsy and went outside to confront her about driving drunk.
An argument ensued and he turned to walk away. At that point, he said, his ex-girlfriend began to chase him with her vehicle and drove into a tree.
Police officers arrived to find the woman and a friend still inside the black GMC.
She was transported to the hospital, where her blood alcohol level was determined to be .259, arrested, and transported to jail.
Veronica Doctor of Hollywood, Fla., has been charged with aggravated assault and DUI.
