Things Not to Do in a Car: Belt out drunken tunes and insult the police
Man who did both of the above decides it's time to run for mayor
Welcome to today’s edition of Things Not to Do in a Car, which just keeps getting better and better because people are unbelievable. Not to mention talented. Take this Alberta man, who belted out a booze-fueled version of Bohemian Rhapsody while sitting in the back of a police cruiser (see video, below).
He had been pulled over on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. His subsequent meltdown no doubt removed the “suspicion” portion of that incident.
The incident happened in November 2011, but it’s been back in the news repeatedly because this guy just doesn’t know how to stop being fabulous. He posted his cruiser-crooning video to YouTube and it immediately went viral (10 million hits and counting), he showed up for his court appearance wearing a viking hat complete with horns, he has been featured on World’s Dumbest Criminals — and now he’s running for mayor.
The Victoria Times Colonist reports that Robert Wilkinson has submitted the necessary nomination papers and five signatures from residents to register as a candidate in Edson, Alberta, west of Edmonton. This pretty much guarantees people will pay attention to a mayoral race they might otherwise never even heard of.
