Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo is a “the glass is half full” kinda guy.
Take his response to a brazen theft at his Florida home on Tuesday, when Luongo came outside to find that all four wheels had been stolen from his Mercedes-Benz GL-Class SUV right in his own driveway.
His reaction? He took a picture of the poor, denuded vehicle, resting on its crippled nubs in the driveway, and tweeted it to his 173,000 Twitter followers with the following message:
His friends and followers were quick to respond, with Swedish goalie Eddie Lack, who will be groomed to be Luongo’s backup when training camp starts in September, tweeted “I DIDN’T DO IT I SWEAR!!!!!”
To which Luongo replied, “I know for a fact it wasn’t you cuz you’d probably still be out there trying to take the first tire off.”
The Vancouver Province reports that, depending on the brand of tires and rims Luongo favoured, the thieves could have made off with close to $10,000 worth of merchandise.
