Even though the 2012 racing season ended last week with the running of the Brazilian Grand Prix, SPEED TV has an antidote for race fans facing withdrawal.
They are running in sequence all the rounds of five different 2012 race series – four of them not seen here before.
Each Saturday, SPEED will air rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at 5 p.m. and of the British Touring Car Championship at 6. And on Sunday, they will have the DTM (the German touring car championship) at noon and the FIA GT1 World Championship at 6 p.m.
These are series that were not on North American TV earlier this year and they all offer name drivers on a variety of international circuits. In particular, the DTM includes Canadian driving stars Bruno Spengler – a long-time DTM competitor now driving for BMW – and Toronto-born Robert Wickens for Mercedes-Benz.
The fifth 2012 series SPEED is rerunning is the entire NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, running each weekday at noon with the Daytona opener kicking it off on Wed., Nov. 28.
