There is just something so funny about watching someone take their first ride around a race track. YouTuber Darius Khashabi took his Mom for a couple of laps of Sonoma Raceway in his Corvette and the resulting show is hilarious. Between her Scottish brogue and her screaming, I can barely understand a word!
Launch Control: SRTUSA takes on the Sno*Drift Rally
I know, now that Spring has FINALLY made an appearance in the GTA, nobody wants to see or hear about snow. Except for rally fans of course, who are always happy to watch their favourite drivers battle it out in the white stuff. Today we have the second episode of Subaru’s web series Launch Control, which follows David Higgins to the popular Sno*Drift Rally in Northern Michigan. The event starts well for Higgins, before clipping a tree during the evening stages. Check out part 1 of the episode.
The Porsche Young Driver Academy Official Trailer
To have a factory ride is every racing driver’s dream. As in other aspects of the sport, Canadian drivers have enjoyed success as factory drivers, as names like Bruno Spengler, Kuno Wittmer, Robert Wickens and Mark Wilkins are all currently active as factory racers. One of the most coveted factory rides however has to be Porsche. Some of the greatest names in racing have been Porsche drivers.
The Porsche Young Driver Academy pits four talented up and coming racers against one another in all aspects of the sport, from racing to business. One of the four is Barrie, Ont., driver Kyle Marcelli. Porsche has chosen to bring cameras along for the ride as they select their next factory hot shoe. While the full documentary isn’t due out until May 9, they have released the following teaser that includes an interview with legendary Porsche racer Hurley Haywood.
A lap of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on board NASCAR truck
The other day I posted a quick video of Nelson Piquet Jr. testing at the Mosport circuit at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. It was nothing special, but the sound was great. Now, you can get a better idea of the action thanks to the video pros who were on hand. Sit back and enjoy this one, the Chevrolet Silverado 250 is going to be awesome!
Mad Fabricators Volume 7: Jason Ellis and the ?uestion Mark Coupe
I first got turned on to a group of hot rod lifestyle media guys called the Mad Fabricators, when my west coast friend Aaron Von Minden laid down some paint on a custom built by a guy named Piero Deluca. You could call Deluca the man in charge of the madness. His latest full length dvd features Texan racer Jason Ellis, who tells the tale of how his coupe became known as the Question Mark Coupe. This is some old skool kool right here!
