in fact the last australian civic was our acura.
so there was no civic that looked like ours in australia…..

To all those who prefer looks over function. I guess you don’t remember the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s when North American car makers rejigged exterior panels but kept producing the same unreliable, rusty crap underneath year after year. It was only with the arrival of Japanese cars that we have the advanced, reliable, fuel efficient cars we have today. For you I have for sale a Yugo with Ferrari-looking body panels..

Just like the new Accord and the previous version of the Civic etc, Honda is just boring. They might make good mechanicals, but Hyundai, KIA, Ford and to a degree even boring GM have got them beat. The Japanese Manufacturers, with the exception of Nissan, just keep pushing out very boring and reliable cars. Suggest they go back to the drawing board as this isn’t going to win any awards!

Ever since Honda killed double wishbone in 2001, Civic has been dead in the water for me. Accord now joins that family. Honda didn’t have to suck – they chose to.

All right, so I can see how they’ve tinkered with the exterior slightly – lights, grille, hood contour, rims. But, what about the interior and safety upgrades you mention – please tell me it’s not just the exterior?!
