As long as the Civic has that Split dash and is not offered as a 5 door hatch, forget it. Ugliest, most distracting design out there. It reminds me of a 1985 Chrysler with a “digital dash”. I am actually in the market for a new small family car, and the Civic is still not on the list. The Focus, the Mazda 3, and the Elantra GT are the contenders, and are clearly the leaders in the segment. I thought the Mazda 3 was now Canada’s best selling car??

the Civic is now too expensive vs the competition. I would buy a hyundai or even a ford over the civic. The competition has finally caught up to honda and surpassed them on price and quality

Meh its just a Civic! Any manufacturer could have put their badge on it. Honda lost the plot years ago. When styling overtook usability they lost my purchasing power. I do not want to buy a shiny stereo with wheels. All the visual distraction on the dash is not my need in a car.

@thewiz: You might want to have a look at sales figures globally for Corolla and Civic before you go spouting off demonstrating your ignorance of the compact vehicle market. People across the globe want reliable cars from Toyota and Honda more than they want a sporty fix-it-daily vehicle typically seen from some of those other manufacturers that offer hatchbacks. Psstt…here’s an actual marketing tip! Hachbacks don’t sell in NA market – particularly the US.

Lipstick on a Pig. The split dash is in my opinion a top 10 worst automobile design trait in history- it’s pure nonsense & it looks horrid. I guess Honda has ‘best selling car in Canada’ going for them (if you take away 2012?? I hadn’t checked)… but McDonald’s is the #1 seller of hamburgers, that don’t mean they’re great hamburgers lol. Oh wells, whatever floats their low standard boats.

In a word, it is boring! So they screwed up and now rush a fix to market. Take a look at the Accord and CRV both look someone took a sponge to the last model, lost their way when it comes to styling. Oh the interior quality is crap, my brother in law’s Civic cloth inserts separated from the backing within two years. Give it another try Honda!

Oooh! Barbie has a new hat but she’s still the same old Barbie. If Honda really cared they would let us have the nice new Civic the Europeans get, not old, “good enough for North America” models (Toyota has its version – the Corolla) they couldn’t give away anywhere else.
