Although I "get" the sarcasm, wouldn't it be better to tell us how many fans were at the 24 Hours of Daytona? There weren't a lot, but there weren't zero, either.

They also have overlap events also at Mid-Ohio and IIRC Road America. I think the combined schedule is not that bad. There are enough classics on the 2 calanders to make 1 championship work ok. I think GA can cut tracks like Homestead, but I think Mosport is by no means safe. especially now NOT being a Panoz owned track. Norris is ignoring though its not just the marketing that makes at-race attendent at ALMS better. They just have better cars to see. Lacking those I don't think any amount of promotion can help GA will be smart to keep the ALMS GT since there are willing factory money in that. P1 is a tough sell but with WEC around you'd think they want to be in on that, with potential of putting Daytona on that schedule....

What makes you so sure Mosport (and Lime Rock for that matter) will be part of this series in 2014? They said today the 2014 schedule will have 12 races. Grand-Am already has 13 races on their schedule this year (2012), although that includes two races at Watkins Glen. Assuming Sebring and Road Atlanta will be part of the 2014 schedule since Grand-Am is buying those two tracks, that would mean they have to drop at least two of their present tracks, even before they would consider adding Mosport or any of the other tracks that presently have an ALMS race but not Grand-Am -- with Long Beach, Virginia, and Baltimore being the other 2012 ALMS tracks also not having a Grand-Am race in 2012.
