Gee that was useful information. Any other titbits to help? Buy low /sell high? The grass is always greener over the septic tank? I guess it sucks to be limited to the KIA world. (Apologies to KIA - it was an example)

If you go onto the various car forums that feature BMW, Merc, Porsche, Ferrari etc. and ask the members their opinion on these 'deals' you'll find that you'll get a flood of negative feedback when you submit the details of the deal along with links to the ad's. It can save you a lot of heartbreak and money by going to your local brand forums and to ask these locals their opinions. I can tell you that as far as Porsche vehicles go - the local online Porsche community has saved a half dozen people over the last year from these types of scams. If you cannot visit the vehicle - it's a scam. If you cannot meet in person - it's a scam. If your dealing through payment processing groups such as Western Union, Pay Pal etc. - it's a scam. If they give you a sob story about divorce, leaving the country, going off to the military as the reason for the low price - it's a scam. The list goes on and on. At least 1/4 of the ad's on Auto Traders are scams - a fact that this site will not admit. I created my own fake ad on Auto Trader - telling everyone right there in the ad that my ad is fake and what to look out for - I even grabbed a photo of a dealer site of a Porsche GT3 and listed it for a low price. Auto Traders yanked MY ad as not being real - yet left the scammers ad's all over their site up. Can touch the sheet-metal - don't do the deal. (and even here you have to check ID and vehicle ownership matches - hard to do outside of Ontario).

Another scam everyone should be aware of is the Amway Tool Scam. Google "Stop The Amway Tool Scam Wordpress" for more information, and forward this to every non-Distributor/IBO you know, so they don't get scammed.
