Ottawa resident Richard L’Abbe is one of the first Canadians to take delivery of the all-new 2017 Ford GT.
The Ford GT is the fastest Ford production car ever with a top speed of 346 km/h (216 mph).
It serves as a test bed for new technologies and advanced lightweight materials that will benefit future Ford cars, trucks, SUVs and electric vehicles.

L’Abbe is a partner in Calabogie Motorsports Park where the car was delivered.
He is co-founder and former president and CEO of Med-Eng Systems Inc., an international leader in explosive ordinance disposal equipment.
He is also a member of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation Endowment Fund advisory committee, which encourages entrepreneurship among budding engineers.
Lastly he is the creator of the Richard L’Abbe Makerspace at the University of Ottawa, a unique invent-build-play space that fosters innovative creativity among students, faculty and the public.
