Eye Candy: 1981 Camaro Berlinetta
Proud owner Ron Pante of Toronto calls this beauty The Beast.
He bought the 1981 Camaro Berlinetta from a widower about seven years ago; it was his late wife’s car and had been sitting in a parking lot for two years, collecting dust.
It was Ron’s first resto project and it was clearly a labour of love ? with an emphasis on labour.
“The inside was rough, the outside needed polishing and cleaning, and the engine/electrical was a mess,” he says. “But after a couple of years replacing the interior, polishing the exterior, fixing accessories, tuning and upgrading the engine and installing some modern gadgets, The Beast has been my daily driver.”
It’s now polished to a hard-gloss shine and boasts an imposing stance thanks to a wider rear end suspension with air shocks, as well as a B&M Ratchet Shifter and Edelbrock/MSD Ignition dominating the engine bay.
The Beast, indeed!
