Well, I was wrong. Upon first seeing the picture I immediately thought 'Montreal'. It was rural Quebec instead.

Anyone know the Joual translation for: "it's not my job, man!"

The pole has been there a long time and someone forgot to pay off the hydro workers to get the pole moved out of the path of the new highway route. Nothing gets done in Quebec unless there is a brown envelope delivered first. And, yes, the highway guys just asphalted around it like it wasn't there. Also typical in Quebec.

They aren't blaming the contractor? Someone has got to be at fault for this... Either the pole was installed in the middle of the road or the road was paved around the pole. Someone had a major DUHHHHHH moment.
