Especially in a big city that sees lots of car jacking stories. If I am in a car that does not auto lock, I press the lock after getting into the car. Sounds terrible to have to do that, but I'd rather play the cynic when my safety is at issue. I am quite happy to let auto lock do its thing. Hey EL, first thing I do when my auto locks click on is I unlock them, ever seen a highway accident where they have to spend wasted time smashing glass and cutting to get at the driver? I personally find this to be one of the most irritating features on any car. When I was given a Ford Fusion fleet vehicle the first thing I searched the owners manual to find was the procedure needed to disable the auto-locks.
