Bugatti Veyron, the world’s fastest police car, only in Dubai
This is officially the world’s coolest fleet of police cars and I don’t think any force will disagree.
The Dubai police department have a fleet of luxury vehicles worth close to 6.5 million dollars including a Bugatti Veyron.
The fastest police car in their fleet is the Bugatti capable of doing 267 mph and can achieve 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds powered by 700 horsepower.
The fleet also includes a McLaren 8 cylinder with 650hp, the Aston Martin One 77, a Lamborghini, the Audi R8, a Ferrari FF, the Mercedes S-Class, a Bentley, Ford Mustang, and finally a Nissan GT-R.
Dubai police are said to be the most progressive unit in any Arab country, hiring women in the early 1960s who now make up half the force. While their police are being trained for duty they also earn law degrees to bolster their understanding of the law and their duty to uphold it.
Although the cars can go super fast, they are not used to chase down criminals; they are rather used as a marketing tool to breach the gap between the police and the community.
The police parade their fleet through the streets to engage with the community. The procession is capable of sparking a social media frenzy that can be tracked on instagram and twitter as they drive through the streets.
The police hope the cars will create a friendly atmosphere with the public, instead of one of fear.
Hands down, this has got to be the coolest fleet of police cars around. This video by Vocativ shows it all:
