Winter tires are superior, especially on ice . They can reduce stopping distances by literally car-lengths. This makes the difference between stopping and colliding with the car in front of you in a panic stop.

If drivers who think all season are good enough are given the chance to try their car with winter tires on ice, it would quickly change their mind.

Every winter we see two separate, disparate headlines; "100s of vehicle collisions follow most recent snowfall" and "Are winter tires really necessary?" I'd like to suggest that if we combined the information from both these headlines we'd see fewer of both every winter going forward.
