six auto trends

Key trends driving the auto industry

After my visit to the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow, it got me thinking about the changes that are impacting our industry. Here are six automotive trends, based on my experiences.

Subaru Ascent Concept

The Ascent a bigger, new Subaru

Subaru is diving into a bigger SUV market with the all-new seven-passenger, three-row midsize Ascent SUV concept that made a world debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS).

Nissan micra

Micras take Manhattan

First Drive: A 2017 Nissan Micra, one of the lowest priced cars in Canada, starting at just $9,988 looking quite at home at 47th and Broadway in Manhattan for a MICRAscope promotional drive before NYI

Kia Red Dot Awards

Kia receives trio of design awards

The Kia Optima Sportwagon, Rio, and Niro crossover hybrid (shown) each took Red Dot Awards for design bringing Kia’s number of Rod Dot wins to 18 since 2009.

2018 Kia Rio

All-new Kia Rio debuts in New York

The 2018 Kia Rio is larger than the outgoing model thanks to an all-new platform with totally revised front MacPherson strut and rear twist-beam suspensions coupled to reset springs and shocks.

2018 VW Atlas

VW Atlas is well worth the wait

Volkswagen are taking direct aim at the North American market with the design of Atlas and from what I experienced they have certainly achieved this.
