Defect? Good grief. How did we ever survive without all of these bells and whistles. Here's a tip: if you use your key to open the trunk, leave it in the lock until you close the lid. If you use the automatic opener, then leave your key in your pocket until you close the lid.

As an added tip: there is something called a brain in that round orb above the shoulders - it's meant to be used once in a while.

My 2007 Altima won't allow the trunk to close if the key is in it, will pop right back up. The Wife is definitly to blame but you would think that Cadillac should have thought of this!!

If I were locked out by myself, I am sure that is NOT the car or the door to blame. I should have my brain checked first.

My Hyundai won't let me lock the doors if I leave the proxkey in the car or trunk. I don't think GM should be blamed for this guy locking his keys in his car, but they should be blamed for making a luxury car product inferior to even a freakin' Hyundai!

Wow, I wish I had the lack of anything else to do which would allow me to return my car to the dealership because my wife is not keen enough to remember that keys are required to unlock the car.

Think of what would have happened if she locked her phone in the car and you weren't there. She might have had to talk to some minimum wage servent and asked to call your cell so you could contact OnStar and have the door unlocked!

That would have taken minutes!

You can't design out stupid. Someone will always be one step behind a designer's best intent. GM's fault? Get a life loser.
