Going into the store is usually quicker during rush hour, too. I can't believe that there are line ups of 15 cars in the drive through because people are so lazy they won't go inside to save 5 minutes (and money for gas). I can't believe how extremely lazy people are.

I've been off drive thrus for several years now... not least of all because I don't allow myself to eat or carry food in my car lest the odor take over (or worse lol). My last straw was ordering to eat at home, got home & found incorrect food- in essence I gave money away for nothing because frankly, drive thrus have become a food lottery where you 'maybe' get what you paid for.

I used to work at McDonalds and this is not acceptable in any location. Call the head office and report it, this "manager" will be fired as he/she should be.

I wouldn't have accepted it either. That being said, if you ever worked in a restaurant kitchen, you'd never actually eat there if you saw some of the stuff that goes on.
I'm surprised as I thought McD's had a policy that once the food touched the counter it couldn't be given to someone else, or something like that.
I was with someone who ordered something and was given the wrong burger. They were going to throw it out so I said I'd take it (no sense wasting food (or facsimile). They told me they couldn't do that - it had to be tossed.

This is a Wheels story? This has nothing to do with drive thru's. Just fast food restaurants. Trying to get some revenge by mentioning the name and location that offended you?

Have you never been in a restaurant when the server comes to your table with the wrong orders, and puts them down, and after everyone rejects the orders as incorrect, they are picked up and taken to the correct table? If you are the correct table, and see this happening, do you reject the orders too?

How paranoid are you? Don't trust your mother as to having dropped a fork on the floor and still used it? Never been camping and dropped hamburger meat on pine needles, picked out what you could see and stick them on the grill - you'll live. Drive throughs serve and suit certain people - no dragging kids out of the car, not leaving dogs in the car, not parking where someone can ding your car. Yes in this case an employee screwed up. Big friggin deal. So someone may have squeezed your burger. Ever look at the people behind the scenes who cook and handle the food served inside or out? more concern there in my opinion.
