The car: 1958 Plymouth Fury.

The owners: Janet Haddad and Vince McPhee, Oakville.

The story: Janet Haddad and Vince McPhee spent many nights in 1984 watching the movie Christine at Oakville’s 5 Drive-In.

“Then we bought the video, the movie poster and the soundtrack LP,” recalls McPhee.

“Finally, around 1988, we decided to look for one of the cars for sale.”

After two years of searching, they found a 1958 Plymouth Fury for sale in North Dakota.

“So, in 1990, we finally got our Christine up and running, looking just like the 1958 Plymouth Fury in the John Carpenter movie based on the novel by Stephen King,” he says.

The classic sedan has a 361-cubic-inch engine and 2 x 4 BBL. carbs, kicking out about 330 hp.

“She is readily recognizable by her personalized licence plates, Evil 58, which she has had for 24 years,” says McPhee. “She has attended many functions, including charities, across Ontario.”

The car is a dead ringer for Christine, and sports Evil 58 licence plates.
