I would never have thought of that. Really. Rarely do drivers of roads prone to deer/car collisions have advance warning. The article should have mentioned, that drivers should be scanning the edge of the roadway too. Also realize that deer are very unpredictable. Just as they run away they will turn around and run back into your path. If a deer does run out and you have the urge to swerve, take a brain pause to look ahead and sideways first.
