DETROIT–Better known for safety, Volvo is planning an S60 sedan with more style and curves.
The Swedish automaker pulled the curtain off the S60 Concept sedan at the North American International Auto Show on Sunday, giving prospective buyers hints of the 2010 S60. The sedan's exterior boasts smooth "racetrack" design cues and more angled headlamps.
The S60 Concept is "more daring and exciting" while maintaining the strong safety features of a Volvo, Stephen O'Dell, chief executive of Volvo Car Group, said at the North American International Auto Show.
The concept offers numerous safety enhancements, including a collision warning system and technology that detects pedestrians who wander into the street.
