Consumer Reports lifts ‘Don’t Buy’ rating for Lexus SUV

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

DETROIT—Consumer Reports magazine says it has lifted its “Don’t Buy” recommendation for a Toyota Lexus sport utility vehicle.

Toyota recalled about 10,000 of the SUVs in April after the magazine said the vehicle had failed an emergency handling test.

Consumer Reports said the rear of the GX 460 slid sideways during a manoeuvre at the magazine’s test track.

The magazine says a software update has fixed the problem with the 2010 model.

Toyota resumed sales in late April after updating software of vehicles at Lexus dealerships.
