FRANKFURT – General Motors Corp. is moving forward with the development of electric cars, its vice-chairman, Bob Lutz, said today, adding that the company is also spending less on incentives for its new crossover cars than it had initially planned.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 62nd International Auto Show, Lutz told reporters that the U.S. automaker still needs newer, more advanced batteries for electric cars, a prospect that has so far been sketchy.
But despite that Lutz said the company is looking at plans to start developing more models that use electricity besides the already announced Volt that it hopes to bring to market within three years.
