If you saw the Canadian Grand Prix race in Montreal, Robert Kubica was involved in a spectacular crash just over 24 hours after our dinner.

Amazingly, given the speed at which he was traveling and the severity of the accident – his car took off, hit the wall, bounced across the track and rolled – the F1 medical staff stabilized his condition at the track before bringing him to hospital with what has been variously reported as a sore foot, a sprained ankle or a broken leg.

It's a testament to modern F1 technology that he was able to survive such an impact. Thankfully, Kubica will race another day – and have even better advice for other young drivers he has dinner with.
