As a performance enthusiast with a conscience, I face a conundrum in picking a car to drive home. Can I have my cake and eat it too?
Somehow even angrier and edgier than the already ticked-off looking, V8-powered R8, this concept car is propelled by a thoroughly modern 6.0 litre turbodiesel V12 that produces an earth-rotating 738 lb.-ft. of torque and a not-too-shabby 500 horsepower.
Since it's not likely that I can spend too much time with the accelerator depressed – goodbye licence! – the diesel's inherent low-load fuel economy and CO2 emissions should keep me from feeling too guilty.
Toss in quattro all-wheel drive, carbon-ceramic brakes and a direct relation to Audi's Le Mans winning R10 race cars – how could my performance side possibly pass on that?
